This film is a smattering of ideas that aren't fully developed and don't quite fit together but coalesce into something interesting just the same. It's reminiscent of something college students would try and intellectually decipher after passing around a joint.

The animation is done relatively well. The shape-on-shape style is different from most of the animations I have seen, but in a good way. It provides a fresh take on a classic film style. The old man's hands and walking motion seem a little clunkier than the monster and the guitar strings, both of which move seamlessly, but that doesn't detract much from the overall look and feel of the film.

The music sets a playful, Old Western mood and takes on the role of narrator in the absence of spoken dialogue. In that vein, more obvious changes to the tempo, key, or even the dynamics as the story progresses might help to flesh out the plot and develop the emotions that didn't fully form in the film's current state.

To that end, the downfall of the film is the lack of plot development. At the point, the plot isn't so much a story as it is an idea. Some elements are there but they don't tie together in any meaningful way.

In all, this is a fun, non-sensical film that's certainly entertaining but leaves me wanting more. The ingredients are there but they don't form a full meal. 3 out of 5.

This was a graduation project I developed for an animation course, here in Brazil. The script was a big problem for me, so I decided to work more with the feelings, focusing on art direction and music. I am very happy with the feedback you have given me, it is very important to me. Thanks!

Very detail oriented, which is especially great to see in an animated film. I think the plot line could be fleshed out a bit. There is a lot of potential, but the pieces of the story--the rising actions, conflict, and then resolution--don't seem to have much of a connection. Whatever that connection is, it would be fun to see. :)

The idea of an old man vs a monster has so much going for it and the film just kinda ended. It didn't feel like a complete film to me, more like test footage for something bigger. The story and the conflict make sense but the way the monster works and how the old man inevitably defeats the monster is pretty awkward. Timing on the other hand is wonderful in the piece which is probably why I wanted more from it.

The animation is smooth, and the artwork looks great. I guess I just didn't get it, the story that is.
But techinically and visually very nice job.
