A dark gothic bedtime story, this is the tale of a little girl too scared to suck her thumb - lest the monstrous Suckablood should come! Written and directed by Ben Tillett and Jake Cuddihy, Bloody Cuts bring their brand of UK horror to new levels with a new film shot on location in a stately home and featuring the special make-up artistry of Millennium FX.
This is truley a classic already!!! Love this film!
Right from the opening shot until the last frame before the credits, my jaw experienced slow steady inclination towards the ground, and my hands finally met each other with force uncontrollably over and over again !
Chapeau Bas!
Absolutely great work .. I also cast Holly in my horror short "Kitten In the Cat Trap"
Ben this is not only amazing but very motivational (to me anyway!). Made me want to go out and just be creative! Congrats on a well deserved win!
hey Ben! Great short and congrats!!! Do you remember me? We went to KU together, I'm very happy to see that I'm not the only filmmaker who graduated!:-) I'd love to see more of your work!
Haha - yes please do!
Oh my gaWd!I love the Dr.Suess-ish rhymes and Poe-ish naration. Can i post this on my twitter or facebook? The world needs to see this..
I just wanted to congratulate you on becoming a finalist in the 2012 International Film Skillet contest! Good luck!
Wow! That was fantastic. Looks stunning and seriously creeped me out. Well done, indeed.
Brilliant I'm so proud, great job everyone :) x
I want to give 5 stars but cant see how to do it. What a great horror short. Such a clever idea & a great twist on the stepmother we all know & love to hate in our favourite fairy stories. Great job everyone!
yes agreed same happened to me Seamus xxx
Just voted but not sure how many stars as I thought I would be give the option to choose the rating once I clicke dthe "Vote for this film" button. Might be worth giving people still to vote a "heads up" on this feature.
I love all the short films that Ben has done in this series.Five star stuff.
I think I may just have voted for this little gem but gave it no stars! In my defence, I'm using Firefox & they still haven't fixed the glitch with Flash yet so I've no idea what mark I've entered (my intention was 4).
This reminded me a lot of Paul Berry's "The Sandman" (also Burton-esque) & the little girl being able to act helped enormously.
But... stepmother? Who'd f**king marry that harridan?
This film was amazing. Nough said.
Very kind of you Thomas! The film was actually cheap in general terms, costing about £2000. And over half of that went on the location and the music.
Early Tim Burton was an influence, and I'm really pleased you enjoyed our makeup work. It looked just as good in the flesh! If you want to see any more of our films you can visit: www.bloodycuts.co.uk
Many thanks to all,
Ben
....what Tim Burton used to do well...blown away by this...wish l had the know how or the budget...great make-up effects...great job.
Thats brilliant Dean! We would like nothing more to do that, it would be a dream of ours in many ways. However until someone is willing to give us some money to do just that, you're just going to be getting these low budget efforts from us for the time being. :-)
There's other horror films on our website, but unfortunately not in the vein of Suckablood. However aside from "Prey" they are all fairly safe for a 12 year old (although Mother Died does open with an off screen head chop!).

Scary as hell... Good work. XD
